Reconciliation Default Effective Date

I know several users out there have this issue, so I'm not sure if this is already on the docket for future updates. When performing bank reconciliations in the Financials module, it is frustratingly tedious to change the "Default Effective Date" in the Transactions Reconciled section. Often I get finished reconciling some transactions, but have to move on to something else for a while and then continue reconciling later. Each time I open the reconciliation, the Default Effective Date rolls up to the current date. I've lost count of the times I've gone through reconciling nearly all of the transactions for a fiscal period, only to find that the effective date was updated like this. Then I have to hand-key the effective date for over 100 transactions, or send them back to the unreconciled section and start over. To further complicate the issue, the Effective Date entry box doesn't even allow for reliably consistent data entry. The first transaction date entry goes fine. But then the data entry in the next transaction starts in the "Day" part of the date, which means I have to press the "/" key twice in order to enter the month first (or click the month manually, which is even more tedious). I've actually noticed this issue in a number of different date entry boxes for various functions in our modules. It would save an enormous amount of time if we could highlight all the transactions for which we wanted to change the Effective Date, and then use a command of some sort to mass-change the date. Or at the very least have the date entry always start on the month. Even that would save an enormous number of key presses. Or better yet, keep the default effective date setting saved for each reconciliation we're performing. We shouldn't have to change it back to the right date every time we re-open it to continue our progress.

Thanks for taking time out and providing the feedback on Reconcilation Effective Date. We will do feasibility analysis and can be one of Road Map Items.

I agree with both points in this request....first being the Default Effective Date and having it remain what we set it to the first time we start the reconciliation, or having it default to the month/year that is being reconciled. The second issue is regarding the entry of dates in different fields, functions and models. Sometimes you can use the spacebar to move through the date, other times not. Same for using tab to move through the date - some functions allow that and others don't. It would be less confusing and time consuming to have consistent methods of date entry across the various date fields and functions.
